CNC turning

CNC turning is a machining method that involves turning various materials (e.g., steel, polyamide) on a lathe. Unlike CNC milling, the workpiece is not stationary, but makes a rotary motion while the cutting tool moves in a rectilinear motion. Our company applies this method, using a 4-axis lathe (max D=480 mm L=1000 mm). The machine allows us to turn acid-resistant steel, but also aluminum and structural plastics. This allows us to perform, among other things:

  • plastic rolling,
  • turning of polyurethane,
  • turning of plastics of different hardnesses

Also, the lathe is equipped with a bar feeder, which makes the entire process automated. Thanks to this, the processed materials are characterized by precision of workmanship and the required repeatability of parameters.

What is CNC turning used for?

CNC turning is used for machining small parts. Computer-controlled technology makes it great for producing precision parts - both in unit and small batch production. It is possible to create a workpiece with strictly defined parameters. Parts made in this way are well matched to other components of the machine, which ensures its smooth operation.

In our company we focus on innovation. For this reason, we have created a very modern machine park. This also applies to CNC turning machines, because we know that innovative equipment is a guarantee of precision workmanship and short service delivery time. Our machine park allows us to turn plastics of varying parameters, and thus produce elements of any application.

Benefits of CNC turning

As with all methods of machining with computer-controlled machines, CNC turning has a number of advantages relevant to the production of components for industrial use. These include:

  • great precision of work - the final product exactly corresponds to the dimension and shape parameters described in the digital design;
  • speed of work - the accuracy of the representation of the design in the material does not negatively affect the speed of the machine. On the contrary, CNC lathes work with efficiency unattainable with conventional machining;
  • repeatability of work - each digital design can be made any number of times while maintaining the same dimensional and shape accuracy;
  • safety - operation of the CNC lathe is limited to programming it and preparing it for work, the operator is not directly involved in machining, so he is not exposed to possible accidents;

This all makes CNC turning an ideal solution for mass production of various types of industrial and other machinery components. Thanks to this technology, it is possible to significantly improve the quality of products, speed up production and reduce the number of defective copies to a minimum. All this has a significant impact on costs.
